Replica Audemars Piguet Royal Oak
Audemars Piguet to launch a new blue-faced Royal Oak collection in 2023
Audemars launched a new range of watches in its Royal Oak collection last week, and many of them are excellent, but there are two special models with dials that play nicely with RO’s traditional design codes. The tapisserie dial is so iconic to the watch that it unmistakably identifies it as a Royal Oak, and only a Royal Oak. Collectors know and love it, and Audemars Piguet rarely strays from it. This is one of those rare occasions. Beautiful sunken blue dial on the new Royal Oak "Jumbo" ref. 16202 and the bright turquoise dial on the yellow gold Royal Oak 15550 are bright new interpretations of an old favorite.replica Jacob & Co. 39mm Royal Oak "Jumbo" ref. 16202 was relaunched last year with a new movement, available in steel, yellow gold and rose gold. Now available in Platinum. (BTW, "Jumbo" is always in quotes because it was a nickname given to the watch when it came out in the 1970s, when 39mm was considered gigantic). The signature petite checkered dial of the previous model gives way here to a blue textured dial, inspired by the platinum Royal Oak model released in 1992 to celebrate the collection's 20th anniversary. At a time when new dial treatments are becoming more and more important in watchmaking, it is equally valid now. The dial is treated with sky blue PVD and then covered with a translucent coating that accentuates the relief effect of the texture and catches the light.
The new yellow gold 37mm Royal Oak ref. 15550 has two pop notes: both yellow gold and hard stone dials are making a glorious comeback. Each of these two elements represents the more decorative, upscale side of the vintage revival we've seen in watches over the past five years. Audemars Piguet is using them together for the first time here, which in itself makes it a collector's piece that is sure to be sought after on the secondary market. The dial is a 0.75mm piece of natural turquoise that has been ground, sandblasted and polished, and since turquoise has a slight matrix, no two pieces will look alike.
Audemars created turquoise and other hard stone dials between the late 1960s and 1990s, including lapis lazuli, aventurine, garnet, mother-of-pearl, and opal, so this piece represents a revival of that look. The combination of turquoise and gold exudes a cheerful Caribbean vibe, making it the perfect casual summer replica luxury watches.
Does it really matter that there are new AP Royal Oaks?
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Royal Oak series, Audemars Piguet released a series of new watches. The new Royal Oak collection covers dozens of different references, including everything from chronographs and mid-size versions to skeletonized flying tourbillons. Probably the most discussed new release, however, is reference 16202 "Jumbo" (specifically the stainless steel model), which replaces the fan-favorite reference. 15202 has been part of the catalog for over twenty years.
Like the Patek Philippe Nautilus, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak was designed by Gerald Genta in the 1970s and the model now represents one of the most iconic and desirable luxury timepieces in the world. The level of hype surrounding the Royal Oak has rightfully become legendary. However, given the similarities between the new model and its predecessor - and given that the previous reference model is no longer available at retail level at all - does the new AP Royal Oak Jumbo really matter? best replica watch site
The new AP JUMBO looks the same as the old one
Before we get into the question of watch usability, let’s take a look at what you actually know about the new Audemars Piguet Royal Oak “Jumbo” ref. 16202. Inside, there's a new movement, which offers a longer power reserve and (crucially) quick-set date. Also, very minor updates have been made to the dial, but it is still instantly recognizable as the iconic design of the Royal Oak and is essentially the same as the version that has existed for the past decade.
Despite the new movement (slightly larger than the movement inside its predecessor), the external dimensions of the new AP Royal Oak 16202 remain the same. While that's certainly impressive from a technical standpoint, it means that the new Royal Oak Jumbo wears almost exactly the same as before. Personally, I think this is a good thing, as the outgoing model is a great watch; however, I highly doubt anyone will drop their ref. 15202 so they can buy the new version.Replica Richard Mille Felipe Massa
The Royal Oak is truly a special timepiece, and Audemars Piguet knew it couldn't change much to the core design. From a movement standpoint, the new Royal Oak Jumbo is definitely superior, but given that it is largely similar to its predecessor, is the new Royal Oak 16202 really as important as the hype makes it out to be?
You still can't buy it at retail
Unless you have a great relationship with your local Audemars Piguet boutique, you simply won't buy a Royal Oak Jumbo at retail without spending at least a few years waiting. Just like the Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711, you can always pay six figures to skip the line and buy an AP Jumbo on the secondary market. However, many people can't afford a $33,200 watch (the actual retail price of the stainless steel model 16202), let alone the six-figure sum required to buy one from a gray market dealer.replica Porsche Design Watches
Given the near-unmatched exclusivity of the new Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Jumbo, its relevance in most people's lives is actually relatively small. Also, since reference 16202 is a standard time-and-date model, it doesn't quite have the same appeal that exists in more complicated versions such as the new skeletonized tourbillon. It's undeniably an excellent watch, beautifully crafted in every way, but given that it looks nearly identical to its predecessor and you still can't buy it at retail, how much is there to discuss?
The Royal Oak can almost be seen as a victim of its own success; the core design is so complete that it cannot be significantly changed or improved without losing some of its character. Don't get me wrong, I'm personally a big AP Royal Oak fan and I recognize the importance of owning a new generation of Jumbo watches. However, no matter how much I want to own one, I can't think the new Royal Oak Jumbo is that much fun as a new release. replica watches review
